Cheap Digital Photo FramesDigital photo frames
and how they can enrich your life.
People love pictures, and digital cameras now offer us a way to take more than we ever have before at a
fraction of what they once cost. However, most people want to display and enjoy their pictures on
more than just their computer screens and without have to make expensive prints. This is where cheap
digital photo frames can help. They combine the convenience of digital photography and other extra features with
the display options of traditional picture frames.
Some advantages of cheap digital photo frames
Digital photo frames can display a lot more pictures. Let’s face it; most people lose interest in the same picture
quickly. With a cheap digital photo frame, you can display an entire collection to guests without having to spend a
penny on printing.
Digital picture frames are very flexible in what they
display too. Lives change and children grow. While, unlike our lives, pictures on a regular picture frame are
static, digital photo frames are dynamic and allow people to update their pictures as quickly as their lives
change.
With extra features like clocks and video, even a cheap digital picture frame can perform many functions a
regular frame cannot. With the number of features constantly expanding, the options they offer keep growing.
Disadvantages of going digital
No technology is without its drawbacks though. For those people who do not like gadgets and do not want to
change the pictures on display, a more traditional picture frame may be the best option. Digital photo frames can
break (although they usually word well), need a brief set up and require a power source.
What to consider when buying a digital photo frame
The most important things to consider are aspect ratio, resolution and size.
For most photographers, 4:3 is the best aspect ratio since it closely matches the ratio of most pictures. Wider
aspect ratios such as 16:9 are designed for wider pictures than what most people take.
Resolution (in pixels) is determined by the number of points of light that the screen will display in any given
area. A higher resolution will give a better picture but costs more. 800x480 is common and sufficient for most
people. However, people may want to go with a higher or lower resolution depending on whether finding a
cheaper digital photo frame or the best possible picture is their priority.
Frame sizes vary from a couple of inches to 15 or more. Budget, where and how the frame will be used and power
consumption all need to be considered when deciding on the screen size. Around seven inches is a popular size.
